MBSR is an 8-week psycho-educational group that helps participants learn new skills to manage stress and cultivate resilience. Learn effective stress management techniques based on the latest in neuroscience. The curriculum is delivered in a highly experiential format and includes:
· Instruction in mindfulness meditation
· Guided meditation
· Body awareness
· Mindful Movement
· Self-Reflective inquiry
· Support in establishing your own practice
This world-renowned course was created over 40 years ago by Professor emeritus Jon Kabat-Zinn, of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. MBSR is a scientifically researched approach shown to help with chronic pain/illness, stress reduction, generate compassion, and aid in the management of anxiety/depression.
Details: 8 weekly sessions of 2.5 hours each, one day long silent retreat, plus Orientation & Interview (9 weeks, 30 hours)
