Why should I learn and practice mindfulness meditation?

Mindfulness is the natural ability to be fully present here in this moment.  When we practice mindfulness we develop a superpower to be more aware of what we are actually doing, how our thoughts and feelings are swaying us, and the effects of our environment/culture. We develop the ability to learn to respond with our best selves instead of reacting from our emotions and fear-based thinking.
